There are so many lovely beaches to choose from in Cape Verde. On the small, sleepy island of Maio, the beaches are often deserted. This picture is of the main beach, known as Bitxe Rotxa, in Vila do Maio. There are two bars on the beach one of which (Bar Tropikal) stages live music on Saturday evenings. Maio is a lovely, peaceful place for a relaxing holiday, away from the hustle and bustle of daily life.
The main beach (Bitxe Rotxa) in Vila do Maio is a lovely place to enjoy the sun and sea, with bars on the beach where you can eat and drink. The colourful boats are evidence of one of the main trades, namely fishing. Fresh fish can be purchased every day.
