As we reported in back in July 2018, the first African Beach Games (Sal 2019) are being held in Santa Maria on the island of Sal. This is just 2 months away now. The games will take place from 14 to 23 June on the main Santa Maria beach. The location is near to the Hilton Hotel and also near Tropical Resort.
The organisers have announced that the games will be covered globally on the Olympic Channel. Coverage will also include interviews with athletes. This channel is an online platform started in 2016 by the IOC (International Olympic Committee). If you wish to watch the games online they can be viewed live by means of download or streaming, video on demand or via other mobile technology platforms. This channel regularly attracts up to 3 million viewers.
The organisers of the games – The African Beach Games Organising Committee (COJAP) has also announced that drug testing will be undertaken during the games. The aim being to ensure anti-doping of athletes in accordance with international standards and also the World Anti-Doping Code.
